- Time
- Exam 3 hours 40 minutes.
- Before you start
- At least 3 years performing strategic level HR/HR related duties (1,000+ hours per calendar year), or at least 3 years holding the SHRM CP while working in or moving into a strategic role. No degree or HR title required.
- How you are tested
- In person proctored exam at a Prometric testing center; 134 multiple choice questions; two testing windows a year.
- Renewal
- Every 3 years: 60 PDCs plus $165 member / $210 nonmember, or retest.
- Full cost details
- Same as SHRM CP: $350 member / $450 nonmember (early bird) or $399 / $499 (standard), including $50 application fee. Recertification $165 member / $210 nonmember every 3 years.
- Where it applies
- United States; SHRM also offers the exam internationally.
