- One of: bachelor's plus 5 years information and management systems experience (3 in healthcare); graduate degree plus 3 years (2 in healthcare); or 10 years experience (8 in healthcare).
- How you are tested
- 115 multiple choice questions (100 scored); Pearson VUE test centers, online remote proctoring, or select HIMSS events.
- Renewal
- Valid 3 years; 45 CE hours (25 HIMSS/approved, 2 ethics) plus renewal fee, or retake.

- Exam $609 HIMSS member (member, corporate or student) / $559 Organizational Affiliate member / $729 nonmember. Renewal $359 member / $479 nonmember every 3 years.
