- Before you start
- Active RN license; BSN or higher; 2 years full time RN practice; 30 hours of informatics CE in 3 years; plus 2,000 informatics practice hours (or 1,000 hours with 12 graduate informatics credits, or a graduate informatics program with 200 practicum hours).

- Computer based exam at Prometric test centers.
- Renewal
- Valid 5 years; renew with active RN license and current renewal requirements.
