Time
Self paced; at least one part within 1 year of registration and all parts within 3 years.
Before you start
Pass four part exam (Parts 1 and 2 at Prometric test centers, 75% to pass; Parts 3 and 4 open book workbook tests, 70%), sign the AIPB Code of Ethics, and document 2 years full time or 3,000 hours part time/freelance bookkeeping experience, completed within 3 years of passing.
How you are tested
Self study workbooks plus proctored Prometric exams for Parts 1 and 2.
Renewal
60 Continuing Professional Education Credits (CPECs) required; the handbook is inconsistent on whether this is every 3 years or annual. CPEC registration $3 per credit.
Full cost details
Per AIPB's self study handbook (2023 edition): enrollment $25 members / $60 nonmembers; six workbooks $254 members / $314 nonmembers; Prometric fees $100 each for Parts 1 and 2; total $479 members / $574 nonmembers; retake of one part $60. AIPB membership dues not published on pages reviewed. Confirm current prices with AIPB.
